As you know, CRTPO will vote on the proposed project for I-77 south of Uptown on September 23, 2026, marking a critical decision for the future of transportation and mobility in our region.

If the project does not proceed, the $600 million in state funds currently committed will be redistributed to other projects across North Carolina with no guarantee they remain in the Charlotte region. In addition, our region would lose more than $100 million in repayments and forfeiture of other allocation funds.
